9AM9:15AM15Dynamic StretchesTeam together on foul line; progress 10-15 yards per movement.Full range of motion; controlled pace; prepare shoulders, hips and hamstrings.
9:15AM9:30AM15Throwing ProgramUse the team's additional-practice throwing program.Coaches walk around. Rotation is the goal; scap pull.
9:30AM9:35AM5Base Running — Score From Where You AreEveryone starts at a base and scores from their starting point. Run through it until everyone has gone from every base.Hit the correct part of the bag; pick up the pretend coach.
9:35AM9:50AM155 Star Baserunning DrillTwo players start at home: one runs through first; one right behind hits the corner and runs to second; one takes a lead off at 1B, picks up the coach and runs to third; one at second flips to the outfield and scores at home; one at third tags and goes home. All happening at once.Have a coach at every station focused on correct footwork.
9:50AM10:20AM30Lead Offs — Freedom To Go (Be a Base Shark / Catchers Throw Down)Looking for ways to advance. When we hesitate we don't go. Balls in the dirt, change ups, any ball that takes the catcher away.Record lead offs — be on time. Look like we're stealing. If they throw back to 2B, we go. Delay steals. Straight steals. Catcher throw-downs.
10:20AM10:40AM201/3 Plays (Intro)Play 1: 1B back pick. Play 2: 2B covers the back pick, usually on a bunt — if they take off, throw to 2B. Play 3: second base cuts it off and goes to 3B.Walk through each play at controlled speed before adding runners.
10:40AM11:10AM30Split Infield / Outfield — 15 min eachInfield: one round of bucket drills — rocker freeze, rocker replace feet; fungo freeze at the top; fungo full-speed routine. Outfield: drop step each way, get-behind drill 2 levels, sprint forward and catch, range testers.Groups swap after 15 minutes.
11:10AM11:25AM15USA Softball Cut DrillEveryone rotates through. Pop fly to the outfield; everyone lines each other up; throw to home.Emphasis on loud communication, hard tags, and no balls getting by the catcher.
11:25AM11:40AM151/3 PlaysPlay 1: 1B back pick. Play 2: 2B covers the back pick, usually on a bunt — if they take off, throw to 2B. Play 3: second base cuts it off and goes to 3B for a tag.Second look — add runners and play it at game speed.
11:40AM11:55AM157 Min GameEach team has 7 minutes to score at 3B as many times as possible.Compete. Apply the baserunning non-negotiables from today.
Be a base shark. Every lead off is on time and looks like a steal — when we hesitate, we don't go. Loud communication, hard tags, nothing gets by the catcher.
